To avoid a dreaded dashboard warning light, you’ll need to keep up with Mercedes-Benz maintenance. In general, your Mercedes-Benz service schedule will require you to make an appointment at our Urbandale service center once every 10,000 miles, or roughly once per year. Most of the tasks that need to be performed will be grouped under Mercedes-Benz Service A* or Mercedes-Benz Service B*, although additional services (labeled “C” through “F”) may also be required**.
Although it’s always a good idea to make a manual record of your service visits, all Mercedes-Benz vehicles made after 2006 include an in-vehicle ASSYST PLUS service tracker, which lights up on your dashboard whenever it’s time to make an appointment.
If you’ve just purchased a new vehicle for your Des Moines and Waukee-area drives, you should plan on scheduling Mercedes-Benz Service A* after you’ve driven your first 10,000 miles, or after you’ve been with the vehicle for a year. Your first Mercedes-Benz Service B* appointment will come at 20,000 miles, or after roughly two years. What’s included with each visit? Find out below:
What does your Mercedes-Benz service schedule look like after the first 20,000 miles? You’ll continue to use the ASSYST PLUS system in order to track appointments, which should arrive once every 10,000 miles or so. So, you’ll schedule another Service A visit at 30,000 miles, another Service B visit at 40,000 miles, and so on.
Occasionally, you may see your dashboard light up with “Mercedes-Benz Service C.” D, E, or F may also appear further down the line! These cues let you know that additional checks and parts may be required during your appointment. Don’t let the stress get to you: Our trained Mercedes-Benz service techs know exactly how to handle every service code.
