Serving Des Moines, IA

Your initial search for a smaller luxury SUV has led you directly to the GLC and the GLE. These premium Mercedes-Benz models are brilliantly appealing with stunning capabilities, beautiful styling, and exceptional features. However, they also have notable differences in many vital areas. At Mercedes-Benz of Des Moines, we are committed to supporting each customer with their selection of an amazing vehicle. Are you ready to fully explore the differences between these smaller crossovers?

The differences between the 2022 GLC and the 2022 GLE begin under the hood. The base engine for the GLC is a 255-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder engine. It comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Another powertrain is available. This engine is a 385-horsepower turbo V6, and it comes with standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. The same base engine in the GLC is offered with the GLE. The GLE is also available with two turbocharged V6 gas engines, producing 362 horsepower and 429 horsepower.

Visually, the GLC and the GLE are strikingly different. The GLC’s rounded nose holds a wide grille, and this grille has sophisticated accent bars that run vertically. An LED light ribbon almost completely outlines the LED headlights. You will find horizontal accents on the sides that give the GLC a confident, aerodynamic look. The larger GLE crossover has a level roofline with an angled hood. The same bar-themed design runs through the grille, but the headlights have two bending ribbons of LED light spanning across the top. The side doors’ definition is more subtle and angled.

These Mercedes-Benz crossovers are spectacularly appointed, but there are several differences. In the 2022 GLC, you could find equipment like a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, leather material, a heads-up display screen, a wireless charging station, and a three-zone climate management system. The 2022 GLE is offered with many of these same features. It also is available with additional features like the option for a four-zone climate control system and the third row of seats. The GLE’s other premium features include a Burmester audio system, a household-style power outlet, massaging front seats, and more.
