Your solid expectations for your next luxury car have led you directly to top contenders like the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the 2022 Audi A4. However, the C-Class and the A4 have extraordinary differences that will undoubtedly influence your model selection. What should you know about these models today?
Exterior
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is unrelentingly appealing with a combination of athletic and sophisticated elements. This two-door model boasts a defined, cascading hood with a rolling roof. The nose expresses a sense of confidence with its double-bar grille design and its LED-enhanced, diamond-shaped headlights. The sides show a series of accent lines and contours that taper toward the rear. The 2022 Audi A4 is a four-door model with a statelier façade. Its smooth hood and shell-like roofline define this. A black, hexagonal grille mostly consumes the nose. The small headlights are capped by a segmented LED light bar. Compared to the C-Class, the sides of the A4 have a more horizontal flow.
Interior
The exceptional design of the 2022 C-Class continues inside its leather-adorned cabin. The leather is accompanied by fine accent materials, such as open-pore wood and aluminum. The central display screen floats above the center stack, and it sits directly over a trio of round air vents. The stack and console have a relatively flush, sleek look with a contemporary gear selector. The interior of the A4 has a busy look. The central display screen sits over a row of air vents that reach most of the dashboard. The climate controls have a traditional look. In the center console, a large gear selector crops up, and it is flanked by a series of controls and knobs for the driving modes, the push-button ignition, and other features.
Performance
The differences between the C-Class and the A4 continue under the hood. The primary engine for the C-Class is a 2.0-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine. This mild-hybrid system pairs with a nine-speed auto transmission and produces 255 horsepower. The primary engine offered for the A4 is a 201-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder engine. You will need to step up to the top S-Line trim level for a premium to benefit from a 261-horsepower engine. Both of these engines have a seven-speed auto transmission.
