What’s New for the 2022 EQS?
Mercedes-Benz breaks new ground with the introduction of the 2022 EQS. This flagship sedan takes the top spot in the luxury automaker’s electric vehicle line. The EQS is on par with the gas-powered S-Class, but it has several standout traits that deserve your undivided attention before you make your next all-electric car purchase. This is the first long-range, all-electric car produced by Mercedes-Benz. It comes with several powertrain options. The base electric motor produces 329 net horsepower, and it is paired with rear-wheel drive. The other option is a 516-horsepower electric motor that is linked with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. Depending on the engine that you select, you can expect your EQS to take you between 420 and 484 miles on a full charge.
Inside the cabin, you will find plush seats that come with heating, cooling, and massaging functions. This is combined with a silent cabin ambiance. The dashboard design is truly unique with the first-ever Hyperscreen. This is an 84-inch touch display screen that encompasses the entire dashboard. It is comprised of a digital driver’s gauge panel, a central display screen, and a passenger-side touch display screen. Additional interior features include the MBUX system with a fingerprint scanner, a Drive Pilot automated driving system, smart device integration, a high-level climate management system, wireless connectivity, and more.
The exterior of the 2022 EQS is masterfully designed. This sedan comes with road-hugging ground clearance and a low-profile roof for an athletic look. At the same time, the nose is both prominent and rounded, and it is dressed up by a glossy-black grille that features a chrome-accented Mercedes-Benz logo. The wedge-style LED headlights are linked by a chrome bar that runs across the top of the grille.
