What’s New for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a well-deserved reputation for rising to meet the expectations of even the most discerning auto shoppers. In 2022, the C-Class ushered in exciting improvements with the launch of its fifth generation. Some of these updates are on full display throughout the C-Class’s exquisite façade. This four-door sedan displays an elegant, flowing profile coupled with sweeping side contours. On the front, the reshaped headlights have a diamond-like quality, and a regal ribbon of LED lighting tops them. The grille is enhanced by a double-bar design and a starry pattern. At the rear, a confident tilt across the bumper reveals a pair of chrome-accented tailpipes.
The cabin introduces a fresh look with a few new features. The interior is dressed in leather with wood and metal accents. Ambient lighting, aeronautic-themed air vents, and an ascending central unit add to the look. The MBUX system now includes a faster processing unit, profile options for the smart device apps, and fingerprint access. Carryover features from the 2021 C-Class are:

- A wireless charging pad
- A Burmester® sound system 2
- A surround-view camera
- Heated front seats
The safety technology has also been updated. For 2022, damage protection is standard. This is added to forward collision mitigation, a blind-spot monitor, and other safety tech from the previous model year.
The 2022 C-Class’s performance capabilities are comparable to the previous year, with one significant improvement. The turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine in the 2021 C-Class has been enhanced with a mild-hybrid system. As a result, its horsepower rating bumped up from 235 to 255. This is offered with a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but 4MATIC® all-wheel drive is available.
